OUR STORY

Miriam’s passion and love for coffee was discovered in the Big Island Hawaii and later in Costa Rica while traveling on mission trips with her youth group. On both trips, Miriam was afforded the opportunity to visit coffee farms where the farmers introduced her to the entire life cycle of a coffee bean – from plant to cup.

Through her visits, she discovered that the coffee bean is an actual plant that only thrives in certain temperatures and atmospheres. The taste, beyond the cream and sugar, is what drew her in the most as she participated in different cuppings provided by the farmers. From there, her palette grew as she began to appreciate coffee for what it really is, in its true authentic state, by the hands that prepared it.

Additionally, her passion for crafting and perfecting espresso drinks grew when her godparents gifted her with an espresso machine for her 25th birthday. She quickly learned that the best conversations transpired with her family and friends over one of her crafted espresso drinks.  From there, with much prayer and reflection, her godparents encouraged her to start her coffee business with the goal to expand and open a coffee shop and roastery in the near future.

OUR MISSION

“As a company, our mission is to provide a warm and welcoming experience to the world, from bean to cup. Guided by creativity and exceptional leadership, our unique coffee flavors will consistently deliver a taste of home every time.”

OUR LOGO

The iconic Hogans Coffee & Co. logo is a picture of Mark and Wanda — the parents of Miriam. Both of her parents are entrepreneurs and have consistently encouraged her over the years to pursue her dreams and aim for greater things in life. Miriam comes from a family of entrepreneurs and avid coffee drinkers so she deemed it fitting to have both of her parents represent the face of the company.
